How do you structure your IT organization?
What is the best way or right way to organise your IT team?
It really depends the structure of the company itself and the CIO should model accordingly.
Some organization tend to be decentralized while others uses a centralized structure. Personally, I prefer a centralized model (maybe because I am more familar with it) with:
- functional dimensions of Infrastructure, Applications, Architecture, Security, Quality, Vendor Mgmt, Run operations and Project Mgmt Office
- customer segments by functions/business units/departments and geographic
